10 tips for taking care of your skin in summer

Everything seems to revolve around protection. Avoiding sunburn and achieving the deepest tan becomes the main focus of beauty routines, but summer, high temperatures, and the omnipresence of the sun pose a tough test for the skin.





The Beldon Beauty team wants to share with you what we believe is an essential routine for this time of year. 10 tips for taking care of your skin in summer. The goal? Beyond returning to work with a healthy glow, it's about returning with your skin in perfect condition.





TIPS FOR SUMMER SKIN CARE






  1. Short, lukewarm showers. In summer, we shower more often to remove sweat, dust, and sand from our skin. Keep it brief, using mild soap and a moderate temperature. As you know, prolonged contact with water and high temperatures dries out the skin.




  2. An extra boost of hydration. Once you're out of the shower, you have two options: spread a nourishing oil on your still-damp skin or dry yourself thoroughly and apply a good body moisturizer—or after-sun lotion if you've been in the sun—all over your body.




  3. And what about your face? It faces heat, sun, wind… and it doesn't have an easy time combating the signs of aging. Not to mention age spots, which are just waiting for the slightest cosmetic lapse to appear. Do you still think it's too much to start using creams with depigmenting agents?




  4. External hydration. You should drink two liters of water daily and avoid alcoholic beverages which, although they quench thirst, dehydrate the body.




  5.  Fruits, vegetables, meats, lean fish and seafood… are the foods that best hydrate the body.




  6.  Elbows and heels require special care. Scrub the driest areas, such as heels and elbows, with exfoliating sponges or a pumice stone. Then apply moisturizer.




  7.  Exfoliate twice a week. It's even more important in summer, as dirt tends to accumulate on the skin. Don't hesitate to add this extra step to your shower routine—it won't wash away your tan!




  8.  Take care of your hair. Always rinse it after swimming in the sea or a pool. Salt and chlorine can damage it.




  9.  Conditioner, always. It's your ally against dryness and split ends. You can use it directly, even if you haven't used shampoo beforehand.




  10. Sun protection. Never leave home without adequate protection, and it's best to apply it 20 minutes before sun exposure.
