Happiness can also be trained

Biography

I'm a curious person, passionate about science, research, and travel. I love people, discovering different ways of life, and I enjoy challenges, creating projects, and connecting with people who inspire me. I like to move seamlessly between my different facets. This applies to both my personal and professional life; I'm the same person in both.

- Tell us , what has your career path been like leading you to dedicate yourself to neuroscience? I'm a Senior Chemical Engineer, a former high-performance swimmer, and a helicopter pilot. My life has always revolved around environments that involve self-improvement and enjoying doing new things. I've always been interested in neuroscience, and throughout my career, I've read and researched a lot about applied neuroscience until one day I decided I wanted to dedicate myself to it fully. I've always led work teams, and I decided I wanted to contribute to the growth of work teams and individuals from this more scientific perspective of mental development.

- What attracts you most to this field and why did you decide to dedicate yourself to it?

I'm passionate about everything in this field. Our brain decides whether we see the world as a place full of threats or as a place full of opportunities. What makes the difference is which neural pathways it chooses, and this is something that can now be trained. Just as we train our bodies at the gym, we can train our minds. That's what I do: train the mind using neuroscience systems. It's fascinating and improves our quality of life in a surprisingly rapid way.

My goal is to bring these treatments and benefits, which until recently were only available at NASA or in elite sports and professions, closer to children and adults.

- What is Mindstudio and when did you start this project?

Mindstudio began 16 years ago as a research project, searching for the best systems to train our minds. I trained in the United States, England, Germany, and Switzerland, with a great deal of freedom to test different technologies, train our brains, and select and discard the best ones.

From there, I trained work teams and pilots within the research field, which gave me a lot of information and experience to create my own method; the Mindstudio method of mental training.

I created everything very organically, feeling very comfortable and satisfied with my training protocols. Mindstudio is the result of years of research and doing things slowly and well. These years have brought me much joy.

- What objectives are pursued in Mindstudio centers ?

The main objective is to improve the quality of life of people, children and adults, on a daily basis.

Improve your sleep quality, mood, ability to concentrate, vital energy, mental agility, creative thinking, optimism, and much more.

The magic of neuroscience is that we can improve any of our mental functions. We have what is called neuroplasticity, which is simply the brain's capacity to change, allowing us to improve the things we already do or to do something new we didn't know we could do.

In that sense, one of the main benefits we achieve with our training is to live with less anxiety and worry, even in stressful environments. Our brain has the capacity to keep us calm and mentally agile, even when there's a "storm" out there. When we manage to function like this mentally, you clearly notice how life becomes kinder, you feel better, brighter, more connected, and at the same time, you experience a great deal of inner peace.

We also train many elite athletes and professionals in this way. This mental approach makes a huge difference in high performance.

- What do you think about happiness? Is it possible to work at it?

Yes, absolutely! Happiness has a fundamental component of feeling comfortable with ourselves, in line with our life's purpose. Deep down, we all have longings and desires to fulfill in this life. We need to identify with actions, emotions, and relationships in our daily lives that are consistent with our goals.

When our brain functions harmoniously (with stable brainwave patterns), it's much easier to achieve coherence between what we do and what we want. Conversely, when we feel good about what we do, we encourage our brain to function well. It's a two-way street.

Many people come to Mindstudio seeking to feel good and happy, and we achieve this by harmonizing their brainwave frequencies. Because, as I mentioned at the beginning, our brain chooses whether to show us the world as a place of opportunities or a place of threats. When your perspective becomes more optimistic about yourself and the world, the changes in your happiness are extraordinary.

- What tips would you give to a person who wants to find calm, to learn to manage their peace of mind ?

In a very quick but I think very useful answer, I would advise them to mentally go to the first situation that comes to mind in which they felt calm and at peace.

And to identify which variables were present at that moment. To pinpoint what was happening that made you feel at peace and start incorporating more of that into your daily life. We have many answers in past experiences. And secondly, I would advise them to try Mindstudio sessions because it will create neural patterns that will lead them to that calm.

- What do you find most satisfying about your job?

Without a doubt, seeing the evolution of the people who train is incredibly rewarding. Seeing the positive changes that occur in their lives and how these changes affect their surroundings is truly inspiring. I'm fascinated by the ability to help not only specific individuals but also to create something more expansive that benefits their communities.

- In the long term, what do you expect from this project?

I don't think I can even imagine where this project will lead yet because I know it will continue to give me many opportunities in different areas.

We are a team dedicated wholeheartedly to research and our methodology. We are currently working with large organizations to train executives and sports teams, in addition to continuing to expand our centers.
But my goal remains to continue researching and bringing the best of mental training to everyone. We're going to open more Mindstudio centers; we just opened one in Barcelona, and more are coming.

- What is beauty to you and how do you experience it in your daily routine ?

For me, beauty is anything that awakens a deep sense of connection, harmony, pleasant surprise, or emotion. I find beauty in many places, even the most unexpected ones. It's what touches and moves me.

In my daily routine, I cherish the beauty of moments. No matter what I'm doing, I always try to design it in a way that brings me peace and harmony. I do this with music, with simple colors, with scents, with words, with good conversation. For me, beauty is closely linked to simplicity, elegance, and emotion.

- What or who inspires you in your daily life ?

I am inspired by people who have passion, a zest for life, who enjoy what they do and above all, who they are.

My daughters Chloé and Olivia, aged 16 and 14, inspire me greatly. I love their enthusiasm and courage to want to change the world for the better.

- Who are your beauty icons?

Any woman who likes herself and radiates positive energy. My icons are women with a sparkle in their eyes. I can name Neri Oxman and Amelia Earhart. Both pioneering, strong, brave, and feminine women.

- What 's the best advice you've ever received?

That after having an idea, let it rest and come back to it later to take it to a more extreme, less obvious place.

- What is your skincare routine?

It's very simple: cleanse and protect your skin with good products, lately using a lot of oils. I get facials from time to time, but above all, I protect myself from the sun and eat a healthy diet, without obsessing over it. I also exercise; lately I've been prioritizing strength and flexibility exercises and less aerobic exercise.

- How do you take care of your beauty from the inside out?

I try to surround myself with people who give me good energy and bring out the best in me. And I'm mindful of my pace. I strive for a good balance between my work, leisure, and personal life; that keeps me energized, motivated, and enjoying each day.

- A pending issue (as far as beauty is concerned)

I think I could use a stain remover, but it'll have to wait until winter!
